History

The Pastry Pub was started in 1999 by Syrus Saifizadeh and has been in business ever since. The business began with, as the name suggests, the selling of pastries and gradually incorporated more variety to the menu. Customers could get sandwiches, wraps, croissants, soups, vegetarian dishes, and the pub has more recently introduced hot meals to keep customers warm. The Pastry Pub is situated close to the corner of center street (University Blvd) and Main Street, is open from 10 to 10, and seats 90 customers. The staff is comprised of Syrus and his wife Tina, a supervisor, and mainly college students. The concept was inspired by a French pub theme.
